Fall is my favorite season also a season I was born. On this Saturday I will get one year older, and hopefully be taking a small step to be wiser as well.
Personally I am really looking forward to the duo concert of Bob Bowman and Loren Stillman. Bass and saxophone duo might sound little scary for some people but I saw them playing together as duo before and it was amazing! Bob said “Looking forward very much to playing @ Cikans with Loren Stillman Sunday November 4 @ 5:00. Three days later he’s playing at SMALLS in NYC with his own band consisting of Steve Cardenas, Steve Swallow and Matt Wilson. All serious heavy hitters. That’s the caliber that Loren is and he lives in Montana! ” And FYI Steve Cardenas connected Bob and Loren who now lives in Missoula, MT. So, yes, see you at Cikan House!

In 1975 Ann moved to Berkeley, CA, to study with ECM pianist Art Lande and became part of his experimental jazz school, first as a student then as an instructor. She performed on two of the shows, “The Tappan/Roberti/Williams Quartet” and “Christmas Favorites”.She was a faculty member (along with Phil Aaberg and David Morganroth) of the Montana Jazz Piano Workshop, and Bozeman’s “Camp Epic”. She continues to maintain an energetic studio in Bozeman and Manhattan, dedicated to educating the young people of Montana in classical and jazz piano, improvisation and jazz vocal coaching. Her 2014CD release ”It’s About The Song…” is available at CD Baby. In 2015 her band ThreeForm, from the 1990’s, reunited in the 1+1=1 Art Gallery in Helena, MT for a sold-out concert. The band is presently creating new works and is performing extensively with plans to record a 3rd CD.
