Bob and I have been enjoying lively music scene in Billings! This week we will be headed to Portland, OR to get together with his family and for his gigs. I normally don’t promote Bob’s gig outside of Montana on BigSkyJazz but this time I added his gig info in the end of this page. If you know someone around Portland, please pass along!

Billings-born Kristin Korb has developed a world-wide reputation for her clever arrangements of jazz standards that she sings while playing upright bass. With several CD’s under her belt, including one on the prestigious Telarc label with The Ray Brown Trio, she now lives in Europe but in early March will tour Montana with guitarist Craig Hall and pianist Erik Olson. The band will perform at Daly Jazz in Missoula, MT on this Wednesday, March 6th and Thursday, 7th.

Here is a message from Alex. “I haven’t been promoting this show yet, but it’s on my birthday (March 8th) and I’d like to invite you all to come. This year I’ve had a lot of ups and downs emotionally and I’ve learned a lot about life, friendships, and music. I’ve been working very very hard preparing a small recital of classical guitar pieces to share with you. These pieces mean a lot to me personally and Kirks’ Grocery is the most intimate of venues and the perfect atmosphere to present this music. Reservations are not required but there’s only 25 seats, I believe. It would be awesome to have a packed house! Ty will also be performing and will sound incredible as always!
