Bob and I are on our way from LA to Weatherford, OK for The 50Th Annual Swosu Jazz Festival where he will play with Dave Hanson on piano, Ed Soph on drums, and Fred Hamilton on guitar on Feb 6th. By the way, last Friday Bob played at Blue Whale in LA, a popular and neat jazz venue in Little Tokyo. The band, pianist Josh Nelson, saxophonist Matt Otto, drummer Steve Houghton, and of course bassist Bob Bowman, was AMAZING. The venue was packed and everyone seemed appreciated the music. I am still filled with beautiful, honest, sincere sounds they created!

On this Tuesday, February 4th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. there will be a jazz jam session at Levity Bar and Bistro in Billings! On this Thursday, February 6th from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Guitarist Alex Nauman’s project Patter Addicts will be performing at Craft Local! The band consists of Alex Nauman on guitar, Sam White on saxophone, Phil Griffin on bass, and Keller Paulson on drums.

A kind of compositional journal with each performance consisting mostly of never-before-played pieces guaranteed to keep both the audience AND the band on the edge of their seats! MSU BILLINGS JAZZ FESTIVAL
No reason not to get this info out! The Jazz Festival will feature adjudication of middle school, high school and college bands (and anyone else who wants to participate) during the day. We welcome Jazz and all styles and sizes of ensembles; Modern Bands, Vocal Jazz, Blues, Soul, etc. You name it, and we’ll have it! Even classical brass! The evening concert in Petro Theater will feature a pro combo and the MSU Billings Big Band with our guest performer, trumpeter and Adams artist, Dontae Winslow (Justin Timberlake, Dr. Dre, Lauryn Hill, Thelonius Monk Institute, Common, D’Angelo and more). It always proves to be a satisfying day, with an emphasis on education and inspiration.
