ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT DEVIL’S TOBOGGAN IN BOZEMAN
On Tuesday, September 8th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. guitarist Craig Hall and saxophonist Will Brown will be performing! Here is a message from Craig! “Hi guys, Will Brown and I are going to play some jazz, 7 to 9 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept 8 at Devil’s Toboggan. (113 East Oak Street, in the Cannery District in Bozeman.) Folks wear masks till seated, wait staff wear masks, and seating is limited, so maybe give them a call if you plan to drop in, to help them plan. There is an elevator, or 25 steps for exercise. The food and drinks are very good, the atmosphere is hip (insomuch as I’m a judge of that) and we’ve been practicing. What more do you need? “

As I wrote earlier, today, September 7th is the great tenor saxophonist Sonny Rollins’ 90th birthday! Happy Birthday, Mr. Rollins! Talking about great jazz saxophonists, Bird, Charlie Parker’s birthday was August 29th and this year is his centennial!
In 1957, Sonny Rollins released an album “Rollins Plays For Bird” featuring Kenny Dorham, Wade Legge, George Morrow, and Max Roach with material associated with Charlie Parker.
