JULY 8TH CRAIG HALL & ERIK OLSON AT ST. TIMOTHY’S

Message from Craig : July 8 is a new beginning for me, a duo concert with piano great Erik Olson at The St Timothy’s Chapel at Georgetown Lake. Lori Marx and Kearen Samsel will be featured also. I’ve written a suite of music bowing to the places around Montana and Wyoming that pervade my mind, esp when the vacation bug hits me. The music is lofty, open-sounding but not quite jazz (except that everything I write/play is tinged by jazz in some way.) I’ve busted a gut on this new music, and I have a new sound now that involves 5 different guitars through three amp, that’s working well and I am excited to test drive it around Montana. Please consider making the voyage to Georgetown Lake, concert begins at 4 PM in the little chapel.

UPCOMING JAZZ & MORE CONCERTS

Backburner Reunion on August 23rd at Rialto

BACKBURNER is a Bozeman, Montana-based poly-stylistic jazz quartet that has worked together for almost 20 years. During that time they recorded five CDs, all favorably reviewed by the, prestigious international jazz music magazine “Le Jazz Hot” [Paris]. The group was featured on season 1 of the 9-time Emmy Award winning Montana PBS-TV program “11th & Grant with Eric Funk” and is partly responsible for the creation of that series due to the powerful public response to the PBS Christmas Special “A Jazz Peace” in 2004. The group features Alan Fauque, saxophones, Eric Funk, piano, Eddie Tsuru, bass, and Mike Gillan, drums.
