We are having a FANTASTIC pianist Matt Villinger from Kansas City, MO this week! BOWDOG : Bob Bowman on bass, Matt Villinger on keyboard, and Jeni Fleming on vocal will be playing at couple of venues in Bozeman. The concert tickets for Squire House concert is going fast so please make sure to reserve your table!

Matt Villinger is a pianist/composer/teacher who is originally from St. Louis, MO. now resides in Kansas City where jazz scene is very active. Matt is one of the busiest musicians in the area and has gained many fans by his versatile, sensitive, and warm sounds. Bob Bowman said “Matt Villinger is one of those younger(under 40)players who play at a maturity level beyond their years. He plays incredible lines that seem to go on forever, but you don’t want them to stop. Very easy to play with and great accompanist which is so important. Try to hear him as much as possible while he’s here because he won’t be in the area long. His first time to Montana.”

On Wednesday, September 12th at Saffron Table from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. a jazz group BOWDOG, Bob Bowman on bass, Matt Villinger on keyboard, and Jeni Fleming on vocal will be making beautiful and sweet sounds! ON FRIDAY EVENING BOZEMAN ART WALK

Art Walks occur on the second Friday of the month June through September from 6 to 8PM at art galleries and businesses displaying artwork located along Main Street and at the Emerson Center for Arts and Culture. The galleries feature artists’ openings and receptions and often provide hors d’oeuvres and complimentary refreshments. Also, keep an eye out for local musicians playing music as your stroll Main Street in Downtown Bozeman. Gypsy Jazz band Montana Manouche will be playing at Emerson Center for Arts and Culture. They will be playing on the front lawn, weather permitting. In case of rain, look for them in the lobby!

Bob Bowman has performed with numbers of artists including Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Frank Mantooth, Carmen McRae, Freddie Hubbard, Bud Shank, Karrin Allyson, Dan Haerle, Steve Houghton, Steve Allee. Bob has toured around the world and been on many recordings that have won or been nominated for GRAMMY awards. While performing with these artists, he works with his own bands including the legendary Kansas City group, INTERSTRING and BOWDOG and has also dedicated himself to jazz education. Bob now resides in Montana continuing to play and influence the music scene.

After 7 albums and many cross-country tours, Jeni Fleming has becom one of the west’s most sought-after musicians, bringing a breathtaking originality to some of the best music of the American songbook. From classic jazz standards to re-arranged pop hits, JENI defies easy classification simply saying in defense “a good song is a good song.” Her signature ballads drip with so much emotion that an audience member suggested adding Kleenex boxes on each chair in her Tech Rider. The Big Sky Journal commented “an evening of this and you’re both whipped and exhilarated, you’ve wiped your eyes, yet your cheeks hurt from all the grinning.”
