We’ve been having good amount of snow around Hebgen recently. We snowshoe as often as we can, shovel snow a lot, and cut firewood with a handsaw. It is like free gym in a great nature!

This special quartet, Pianist Josh Nelson, bassist Bob Bowman, saxophonist Scott Jeppesen, and drummer Roxanne Jeppesen will be playing in Billings, MT for 2 nights. And on Thursday, February 28th at Cisel Recital Hall at MSU Billings (1500 University Dr, Billings) from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the quartet will play originals.
Josh Nelson (Piano) – Los Angeles, CA – Born and raised in Southern California pianist-composer-bandleader Josh Nelson has performed with some of the most respected names in jazz, including Kurt Elling, John Pizzarelli, Benny Golson, Sheila Jordan, John Clayton, George Mraz, Jeff Hamilton, Dave Koz, Joe Chambers and Peter Erskine.
Bob Bowman (Bass) – West Yellowstone, MT – Bob has toured and recorded with many artists including the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Toshiko Akiyoshi, the legendary Carmen McRae, Pat Coil, Freddie Hubbard, Bud Shank, Ed Soph, Karrin Allyson, Steve Houghton, Steve Allee, Bill Mays, Clay Jenkins, Danny Embrey, Todd Strait, Bob Sheppard, Matt Otto, Rod Fleeman, John Stowell, Jerry Hahn, Bobby Watson and others.
Scott Jeppesen (Saxophone) – Billings, MT – Prior to accepting the position at MSUB, Scott lived in Los Angeles for seventeen years. In that time, he performed with Maria Schneider, Bobby McFerrin, Burt Bacharach, Lalo Schifrin, Alan Pasqua, Bill Watrous, Shelly Berg, Manhattan Transfer, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Artie Shaw, Bob Mintzer, Dave Brubeck, Natalie Cole, Louis Bellson, Al Jarreau, Steve Miller, Randy Brecker and James Moody…just to name a few. Scott has composed and arranged for many different artists including Steve Miller, Ramsey Lewis, Natalie Cole, Ruben Studdard, Dave Koz, Ledisi, Burt Bacharach, Monica Mancini, Scott Martin, and the PBS Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, which aired in the spring of 2007.
Roxanne Jeppesen (Drums) – She has studied drum set with Billy Higgins, Dan Schnelle, Sherman Ferguson, Rick Lotter, and Stan Lunetta. Roxanne is the President and founder of the 501c3 non-profit organization, Cultivating Creative Minds (2010), which employs 32 professional teaching artists who teach at 15 different elementary schools in Santa Clarita, CA. The non-profit organization provides 45 minutes of arts instruction per week to over 5,000 students.
