Bob and I are finally relaxing after almost 7 weeks of tour in the midwest and 1 week tour in Montana with Loren Stillman and Mark Ferber. We had great fun in all the places we visited with Loren and Mark. Wonderful audience and hosts who love to share music the band offer with mostly local music fans. I was touched by young audience that truly appreciated the sounds the band created. Jazz is alive!!
This week at The Murray Hotel, Matt Ridgeway and Eddie T will be playing 7-9PM, not 6-8PM. Please catch them if you are around in Livingston!
* To musician friends, if you would like to add your message, on going projects like new albums, etc. on BigSkyJazz.net please contact me!
* Details of these concerts can be changed due to artists/venues’ circumstances.

FROM BOB BOWMAN

Yae and I were in the Midwest for seven weeks with four days off and hit the ground running upon returning to Paradise. Playing eight concerts in and a couple of workshops/clinics at colleges in mostly small towns. The tour was funded by the Montana Arts Council to promote jazz in smaller communities. Loren Stillman, one of the best saxophonists ever. No exaggeration as is drummer Mark Ferber. In my 58 years of playing it’s probably top of the list of tours I’ve experienced. We didn’t play remotely anything with a C and/or a W. I was a bit concerned, but we received standing ovations everywhere!

Many thanks to many people. Especially, per usual, Jirina and Frank Cikan where we played Saturday evening. Jazz is definitely not dead in the Treasure State or elsewhere.
