Bob Bowman’s late wife Sandra Paige Bowman passed away on November 20th, 2013. The album features some of her favorite songs also new compositions dedicated to her. Here is “The Very Thought of You” from the album.

It’s a bit chilly but you can enjoy beautiful live music by William/Tappan/Kohler on Montana Public Radio this afternoon wherever you are! Jazz program Dimensions in Jazz by John Arvish will bring the trio to his show and they will live stream the concert from Studio B in Missoula!
MJ Williams on vocals/trombone, Ann Tappan on piano, Rob Kohler on bass. They will play music from their new album RETURN (The Turning Point) and talk about the project. Please enjoy their beautiful music on Montana Public Radio, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.!

SUNDAY NIGHT AT WALKERS GRILL IN BILLINGS

John Roberts will be playing at Walkers Grill in Billings tonight with Malia Howell on vocals, Bill Honaker on drums, Mike Leslie and bass, Alex Nauman on guitar!!
John Roberts began playing the piano at the age of 5 while living on an isolated ranch in Southeastern Montana. There was no TV, but there was a piano. From age 11-18, in Malta, MT, he was in band (trombone) and choir in the Malta, MT schools. After graduating in 1996 from Montana State University-Billings with a BA in Music Performance, John moved to Los Angeles to earn his Master of Fine Arts in Western Orchestral Performance from California Institute of the Arts. Roberts is now on faculty at Montana State University-Billings as a Jazz, music theory, low brass and world music instructor. He is also band leader of Pan Blanco, the region’s premier salsa and African band. John has a knack for inspiring the audience to dance and enjoy life! As always, no cover! 7-10 pm.

Come hear your favorite holiday songs all jazzed up! The Montana State University School of Music will present a concert of holiday jazz classics set for 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, at Inspiration Hall. The MSU One O’Clock Jazz Band, the MSU Jazz Workshop Ensemble and the MSU Traditional Jazz Combo will all perform at the holiday jazz concert. Swing into the season with the MSU School of Music Jazz Program! Tickets for the event are $10.00 general admission, $5.00 for students, and can be purchased only at the door.
