Bob, our beloved dog Budsie, and I just came back from a tiny tour. Bob played in Bozeman and Billings last couple of days with fantastic musicians! Driving to gigs is getting much easier as the season is changing to a real spring. And beautiful wildflowers are blooming in some areas of Montana! Though, it is still kind of brown around our place, near West Yellowstone. The regular top runners; Sagebrush Buttercup and Spring Beauty are blooming finally!

Rocky Mountain Jazz Collective: Sinatra at the Sands
While it’s been 55 years since Frank Sinatra recorded Sinatra at the Sands, the music remains as fresh as the day it was released. This was Sinatra at his best, performing with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra in the Copa Room of the former Sand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Vocalist Daren Small joins RMJC to perform many of the great Quincy Jones arrangements featured on the album.

“The Skyler Mendell Sextet plays all original, high energy, creative jazz. The group was formed by Skyler when he moved to Missoula to pursue a Master’s Degree in Trumpet Performance – and he will graduate in May. Since November 2021, they have played all around Missoula. The band is Skyler Mendell on trumpet, Aidan Robinson on sax, Sean Stineford on trombone, Dylan Bautista on piano, Connor Racicot on bass, and Llwyn Clark-Gaynor on drums.”
