FROM BOB BOWMAN

Just a heads up as we head into winter. There might be some times that I’ll need cancel last minute at Devil’s Toboggan and elsewhere because of weather. We live two  hours away from Bozeman at around 7,000ft so snow is an issue. Just an apology in advance. I hope this coming Tuesday isn’t one of those because I’m really looking forward to playing with Curt Warren. He’s a great  guitarist who has migrated back to the area from El Paso, TX. We are close in age and in thinking. I mostly play with musicians 2-3 generations younger than myself, which I love and it keeps me young, but there’s something special about playing with someone close in age. Having experienced a lot of same history of music and life. Please join us. Laughs guaranteed.

ON TUESDAY NIGHT AT DEVIL’S TOBOGGAN IN BOZEMAN

FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE

The other night I looked for nice music to go with a dinner Bob was cooking and I found an album called “Lester Young with the Oscar Peterson Trio”. We totally enjoyed this fantastic album! The music was by Lester Young on tenor saxophone, Oscar Peterson on piano, Barney Kessel on guitar, Ray Brown on bass, and J. C. Heard on drums. The music on this album was recorded in 1952 and originally released as three separate albums in 1954.  Verve Records collated the music and reissued in 1997. Here is the link to “Lester Young with Oscar Peterson Trio” on YouTube!
