FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE

Our friend and Bozeman jazz fan Greg has sent me recommendations which I could not add last newsletters. (Sorry, Greg!!) One recommendation was Montana’s own Kristin Korb who now lives in Denmark. I met Kristin and enjoyed her performances in Montana in 2019 when she toured in the U.S. Kristin has YouTube channel where you can watch lots of her videos. Here is a link to one of her latest live performances “Zanzibar” by Kristin Korb Quartet! And this is a quote from Greg’s message “BTW, she (Kristin Korb) once did an early-afternoon in-store at Music Villa, which I attended. During the Q&A, cats were asking her a lot of technical, and rather nerdy, bass-player questions. I got the final question, and asked her what she drew on for creative inspiration. In response, she rhapsodized about she had just eaten for lunch!

One more recommendation by Greg is pianist Hal Galper who is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, bandleader, educator, and writer. Hal is featured on Jazz Video Guy’s interview on YouTube “The Hang – Hal Galper’s Master Class”. It is one hour interview. If you would like to know more about him, here is Hal Galper’s website where he offers lessons, articles, etc. https://www.halgalper.com/ .

As I wrote in my last newsletter, guitarist Alex Nauman and bassist Bob Bowman played at Alex’s live stream “The Hang!” last week. The duo made fantastic music and the audience loved it! Unfortunately a sound issue occurred in the middle of the stream (around 42mins) so they had to restart the stream which made two separate videos of the concert : Part1 and Part 2.
Here are the links to Alex and Bob’s concert! And you still can donate!

PHOTO BOOK “SEKKEI. KUKEI”

My photo book “雪景 – Sekkei. 空景 – Kukei.” for sale!
To friends who bought my 2021 calendar, thank you so much for your support! I printed a small amount of my first photo book which are my first baby steps.
About the title. Japanese “Sekkei” means snowscape. “Sekkei” is combination of these words: Yuki (snow) and Kei (scenery, landscape view, scene.) ”Kukei”, I made up this word to go with “Sekkei”. I used a combination of the words: Ku (sky, space) and Kei to title my photos of sky.

So here are my humble works, “Sekkei. Kukei”. (11.5 x 8.5 inch, 22 pages)
