THREEFORM
On Friday the 19th of November (7PM) at the Cikan residence in Bozeman MT, the trio ThreeForm will perform along with Adam Greenberg. These guys have been around forever, Rob Kohler (bassist) is known for being a composer, educator and performer at festivals such as Montreux, Vancouver International and Stanford Jazz Workshop. 5/4 Magazine said this about Ann Tappan (piano) “Ann Tappan makes every note count”. Ann Studied at Berklee College of Music, then went to New York to connect with the improvisational avant-garde loft scene.In 2002 Ann played at the Prague International Jazz Festival. Adam Greenberg, Conservatory schooled jazz drummer arrived in Bozeman in 2002 and established The Bridger Mountain Big Band. MJ Williams recently received a Jazz Hero award from the Jazz Journalists Association. Williams has appeared in many jazz festivals and clubs in the US and France.

Our friend and a huge jazz fan Greg Smith has sent me few recommendations.
His first pick was npr program Fresh Air’s episode. “‘Fresh Air’ Remembers George Wein, Founder Of The Newport Jazz Festival”. This episode was originally broadcasted in 2003. It was an interview with George Wein who passed on September 13th. He created the Newport Jazz Festival in 1954 and the Newport Folk Festival in 1959.
Greg also suggested to check these episodes: interviews with B.B. King, Abbey Lincoln And Max Roach, and Tony Bennett on Fresh Air.
The second pick was Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival which is not only numerous live concert but the festival includes master classes, music clinics and workshops. You can check some videos of concerts and masterclass here on vivamoscultura.buenosaires.gob.ar!
